Our $2000 Egg

Our $2000 Egg

LOL... This has got to be one of the most expensive chicken eggs ever!

This is our first egg from our little flock of happy Australorps.

$2000 egg

If you add the cost of purchasing the young chicks, feed, care, a shed/coop combo and fencing to keep them safe, I imagine we've spent in the neighborhood of about $2000 overall. That's not counting all the work we've put in.

Well... off to the kitchen to sample this expensive egg.

Note:  It was great.  :)  Maybe not $2000 worth, but hopefully as the other hens start to lay, the average cost will go down a bit.
